Job vacancy: International Project Design Intern

VACANCY NOTE: INTERNATIONAL PROJECT DESIGN INTERN

LOCATION: Padua, Italy
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 15th of August 2016
LANGUAGES REQUIRED: Fluency in English, French, and Italian
DURATION OF CONTRACT: Six months, starting from September 15th
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Paid Internship

BACKGROUND

Etimos is a network of organizations that promotes investments and projects to improve people's lives. Etimos promotes and supports social business and innovation both in developing Countries and in Italy, developing more equitable agricultural supply chains, funding micro-enterprises excluded from traditional banking channels. This allows job-creation and access to welfare services, such as health and education, even in the most difficult contexts. Etimos, with Headquarters in Padua, includes more than 100 organizations based in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe as: microfinance institutions, producer co-operatives, associations, universities and schools, cooperatives, fair-trade companies, NGOs, banks, foundations, public authorities and religious associations. Etimos provides its members with the necessary tools to promote economic and social growth of the local communities addressed to capital, resources, knowledge, technical assistance, and training. The Project Design Intern will be part of the International Projects Dpt., based in Padua. She/He will support the project design of new initiatives and the implementation of on-going projects. Alongside with staff members, she/he will be involved in various components of projects drafting, planning, management and monitoring.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Scouting of new grant opportunities provided by international Calls for Proposals or Calls for Tender, issued by National and International Organizations, EU Agencies, private Foundations and other potential donors, coherent with the organization’s areas of interest;
  2. Support the drafting of new project proposals, and assist the monitoring of on-going projects implementation;
  3. Provide flexible support to all the activities of the International Projects Dpt

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business Administration, Economics and Finance, International Cooperation, Local Development, Human Rights, Social Science or other related discipline;
  • Committed to deliver quality in everything She/He does;
  • Able to draft project documents in a clear, concise, and correct style; Knowledge of the basic principles of International/EU Project Cycle Management and the Logical framework approach;
  • Fluency in English, French, and Italian is required. Spanish is an asset;
  • Analytical mind, self-organized, and precise;
  • Good level of command of the main IT tools, i.e. Excel or other spreadsheets;
  • Ability to effectively interact with other cultures with respect for diversity;
  • Strong attitude to teamwork and to work under pressure, respecting deadlines;
  • Sharing Etimos’ values and mission;
  • Strong interest for development finance and international cooperation
