An engineer by training, Marco has extensive volunteering experiences with cooperations in Brazil and a career in management. He later worked in the world of financing for development and social economy: during those years he served on the Board of Directors of several companies operating in the area of financing for development, fair trade and organic farming, at both the Italian and international level.

A graduate in economics and social sciences, Master’s in law and policies of the European community, he was managing director of Caritas Italiana. Today he works as a freelancer and is a board member at consulting companies, consortia, social enterprises and cooperatives. He collaborates with research institutes and universities in his capacity as Third Sector expert. He is the author of the book "Banche e Migranti. Un percorso è possibile".

With a degree in political science, in 1971 he launched an academic career as researcher and teacher. He has participated as adviser and chairman in several boards of directors; among which: Sviluppumbria spa, the Consortium for the Development of Industrial Areas of the area of Terni, Narni and Spoleto, Interporto Marche Spa, Società Sistema Innovazione Sviluppo srl. From 2007 to 2013 he was general manager of Sviluppumbria spa.

In 2008 he enters the Directorate General for Development Cooperation at MAE: first as head of the Project to reform the Afghan judicial system, then as a senior advisor of the Iraq Task Force.

A law graduate. Since 1997 Cecilia is operational manager of Cepesiu, a microfinance institution in Ecuador. She advises international organizations on issues of local development, financial services to micro and small enterprises, and human resource training. David is an expert in international cooperation that works in Etimos since 2011. He is currently responsible for developing programmes and international partnerships, with a particular focus on the role of the private sector in cooperation, and on post-emergency economic reconstruction. Before 2011 he worked for international organizations, for European Union cooperation programmes and for some Italian public bodies. He holds a degree in international policies and human rights from the University of Padua.

Alberto obtained a degree in business administration from Venice with a thesis on microfinance and specialization in management control. After working as a tax manager and coordinator of projects financed by the European Social Fund, he spent three years in Zambia setting up a local microfinance institution. He then joined the Etimos team: first as a financial analyst, then as management control officer, and finally as head of administration and of the development of the internal control system.

Georgia holds a degree in Law with a transnational focus. In 2005 she enters the world of ethical finance and microfinance through an internship in SEFEA, which allows her to learn about a different and more equitable way of doing finance. In 2006 she joins the Etimos staff, collaborating first in the area of projects and then in that of finance: since then she continues to have the opportunity to help the less fortunate through her work.

Serena has a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures. Her passion has always been to get to know new worlds and new cultures. Since 2006 she works in Etimos in the institutional secretariat. This way she was able to combine her passion for languages with the dream of working in the nonprofit sector, in close contact with various international organizations.

Driven by a passion for the world and for writing, she landed at Etimos to chronicle through various media how financial inclusion, by reducing poverty and inequality, can improve the lives of people in Italy and around the world.

Diattou graduated in sales techniques, marketing and international finance. Prior to joining Etimos she worked for the Eticca business school, for Oikocredit (world leading organization in the field of microcredit) and for CBAO Groupe Attijariwafa Bank. Diattou has studied and lived for 11 years in Europe, mainly in France and the Netherlands. She is fluent in French, English and Dutch.

Carlos is a professional with more than 15 years of experience in finance, microfinance and technology. He was general manager of Banco D-MIRO, which he helped to transform into a regulated microfinance institution, now acknowledged among the best in Ecuador and Latin America. He has two bachelor’s degrees: one in business administration (Quebec-Canada University) and one in strategic and information management (ITESM-Mexico University); and two Master’s degrees: one in marketing (ESPOL - Ecuador) and one in management programs micro finance institutions (INCAE - Costa Rica).

John has been Head of Marketing at Banco D-MIRO, a well acknowledged and regulated Ecuadorian microfinance organisation. He has extensive experience in sales and marketing, particularly in the microfinance sector, and a strong social motivation in working in support of the most disadvantaged sections of the population. A software engineer by training, he later obtained a Master's degree in balanced scorecard (UAA-Paraguay). As a consultant he worked in many Latin American countries in the area of IT systems and business intelligence.
